The manufacturer is the company that built your printer. When you buy inkjet cartridges directly from them, this means you are buying the same brand as your printer. For example, HP for a Hewitt-Packard or Cannon cartridges for a Cannon printer would be the manufacturer or “original” cartridge. However, these are not your only options. When you take time to learn all of your options, you are on your way to saving money and getting the most from your printer and ink jet cartridges.
There are other brands or “off brands” which can be purchased for cheaper than the name brand inkjet cartridges and will typically be cheaper. In addition, you can buy name brand from other places besides the manufacturer.
